Prior to Chris Fehon's retirement, his work in the financial markets took him around the globe and afforded him the opportunity to sate his passion for fly-fishing at some of the best fishing destinations around the world.

One day, after a day's fishing in Tumut, NSW, he stumbled upon a secluded valley. The fishing and scenery was so good, Chris's dream to build a small log cabin quickly turned into a much more ambitious project of developing a fly-fishing property to rival the world's best.

After eight years of hard work conceptualising, building and developing, Chris' vision of the ultimate fly-fishing destination became a reality in January 2007 with the official opening of Nimbo Fork Lodge.

The Best of Fly-fishing

Nimbo Fork enjoys a formidable fresh water system (including the high country rivers of the Snowy Mountains and Lake Jindabyne), widely regarded as having some of the best conditions for fresh water fish.

Our expert team of fishing guides are available to assist our guests on their expeditions.

Nimbo Fork's specially commissioned fly-fishing drift boats - the first of their kind in New South Wales, can be chartered for a half or full day of fishing. Our man-made trout ponds are perfect for novices venturing into fishing for the first time, or experts who'd like to experiment with different flies before heading out into the river.

The Best in Luxury

No expense has been spared to ensure our guests are provided the very best in comfort and convenience. Cabins and Lodge Rooms are equipped with reverse-cycle air conditioning, mini bar, coffee making facilities, high-speed internet access, latex-foam mattresses with Egyptian cotton bedding.

Featuring a fully stocked bar and cellar, Nimbo Lodge boasts a wine list to rival most 5-star restaurants'. Prepared by our experienced on-premise chef, the cuisine utilises the fabulous raw produce from the neighbouring Riverina district, such as South Coast shellfish, Riverina cheeses and local beef and lamb.
